Company watch
Company watch tells you when a new company or LLP registers a name like one of your portfolio marks. A company named after a client's brand can be a reason for a letter, a request to the Registrar of Companies to change the name, or a talk with the client.

Company watch. New companies whose names are like the firm's marks, with the company's CIN, registered office and why it matched.

How it works
The government publishes the list of companies registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and updates it about once a month. Nishaan reads the list every week. When it has new companies, Nishaan compares each new company's name with every mark in your portfolio.
A company is listed when:
- its name is your mark, with or without words like Private Limited, Foods or Technologies;
- its name contains every word of your mark;
- its name sounds the same as your mark, such as FIRKI TV for PHIRKI TV; or
- its name is spelt nearly the same as your mark.
A mark that is a single common word, such as ROYAL or STAR, is matched only by a company with that word alone. Otherwise it would match thousands of companies.
What you see
Each row shows the new company, its CIN, status, state, registered office and date of registration, then your mark and why it matched. Select your mark to open its record.
Dismiss hides a company you have looked at. Tick Show dismissed to see them again, and Restore to bring one back. Viewers can see the list but cannot dismiss.
New companies also appear in the daily email, under New companies with names like your marks.
The government's list covers companies and LLPs. It is usually two or three months behind the real registrations.
